Who Is A Candidate For Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning can benefit both women and men patients. For women, if you want smoother skin on your face, removal of peach fuzz hair, and more even application of your makeup, then dermaplaning may be right for you. (Dermaplaning is not recommended for women with thicker facial hair or who have significant acne or other scarring.)

For men, dermaplaning is an effective treatment for men to smooth facial lines and minor scars. Even for men with beards, dermaplaning can be used on cheeks, the forehead, neck and other areas.

How Does Dermaplaning Work?

Dermaplaning is a treatment where our licensed aesthetician uses surgical instruments to gently scrape away layers of dead skin. The deep treatment has little to no discomfort, but removes dead skin layers, peach fuzz hair, and other facial imperfections.

After dermaplaning, the aesthetician applies an antioxidant treatment, serums based on your specific skin type, hydration, and sunblock to protect the newly exposed fresh skin layers. Dermaplaning results in new freshness and radiance, with smoother skin that is more receptive to your daily skin cleaning and treatments.

What Can I Expect During My Dermaplaning Treatment?

Dermaplaning is a relative quick process. You relax in our treatment chair, while our specially trained aesthetician gently and carefully removes dead skin layers with sterile surgical instruments. Also special care is taken, the treatment usually takes less than an hour, and there’s very little discomfort. During the dermaplaning, no lotions or creams are used, but afterward, serums selected for your skin type are applied to soothe and promote healing. After treatment, you may experience some redness or irritation (it’s best not to schedule dermaplaning on the day of a big event), but this goes away quickly. You are left with smoother, younger-looking skin.

Dermaplaning may be done in conjunction with peels or facials for optimum benefits. Our staff can help determine the best treatment course for you.

What Results Can I Expect From Dermaplaning?

After the treatment, you’ll notice how much smoother your skin is, and how much easier it is to apply makeup. Your daily skin treatments will be more effective, since they are penetrating deeper into layers that are responsive to the treatments.

Anti-Aging Dermaplaning
This is the best treatment for someone concerned with aging skin. Includes dermaplaning for exfoliation, antioxidant treatment, oxygen treatment to lighten and brighten, a customized mix of serums for your skin type and either a hydrating mask or anti-aging peptide mask.

Deluxe Dermaplaning
If you would like a light peel with your Dermaplaning, this is the treatment for you! Includes dermaplaning for exfoliation, oxygen treatment to lighten and brighten, a multi-acid peel to lift remaining dead, unwanted skin cells, followed by enhancing serums based on your skin type. Some patients alternate anti-aging dermaplaning and deluxe dermaplaning treatments every three to four weeks for optimum results.

Oxygen + Enzyme Treatment
Oxygen facial treatments are gentle yet invigorating and assist the skin in the detoxification process to create a healthy glow. Enzyme facial treatments rebalance and exfoliate the skin without causing any visible flaking. Enzymes activate when placed on the skin, and selectively absorb only dead skin cells, leaving healthy tissue alone. Combined, oxygen and enzymes can brighten, smooth, and enhance skin texture. These treatments require no downtime for recovery, and produce optimum results if done in a series.
